PROFESSION OF FAITH

( The celebrant and the ministers leave now the Bema and proceed towards the sanctuary. When the celebrant enter into it, he shall say: )

Cel.: with our hearts purified from every bad intention, may we be worthy to enter into the lofty and sublime Holy of Holies. May we stand before the holy altar in purity and decorum, in recollection and holiness,to offer you in the true faith these spiritual and rational oblations.

You who are good and do not get angry forever, nor you hold your wrath in eternity, turn your face away from my sins, and erase all my faults through the abundance of your mercy, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for ever.

May our Lord Jesus Christ, by his grace and mercy, be with all of us for ever. Amen.

Cel.: We believe in one God:

All: We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation He came down from heaven: By the power of the Holy Spirit He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Ser.: Let us pray that peace be with us, for our forefathers, the patriarchs, bishops, all priests, deacons, for all young people and women and for all who have departed from this world in true faith. Let us pray for all our fathers and brothers, for all our sons and daughters, for all the faithful leaders who love Christ; in remembrance of all prophets, apostles martyrs, confessors here and every where. On the day of the resurrection may God who crowned them give us with them true hope for a share in the inheritance of the kingdom of heaven. (bless us O Lord ). May this sacrifice be accepted with uncovered faces, and may it be sanctified by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, that it might be for our help, salvation, and everlasting life in the kingdom of heaven, by the grace of Christ.

He became a perfect man with a rational, knowledgeable, and immortal soul, and with a mortal and human body. He was born from a woman and became under the law, in order to redeem those under the law. And he left to us a memorial of our salvation, this mystery which we offer before you.
